We was lucky that Indoprix race which is supposed to be taken place in Sentul Circuit in August was moved and taken place earlier in June 15, 2008. In maximazing the event, a Superbike Race was also held as a supporting race in that event and I participated in and to got some more experience.

On the Indoprix Race in Sentul in June 2008, Ducati was invited to make the event more colorful by having its community (fun) race. With a very short preparation, we managed to get 13 bikes registered. Most of us are quite busy lately and no practice was made before the race. Some of us even only come directly on the race day. This is totally a fun race.

Saturday, June 7, 2008 more than 20 Ducati riders get together at Automall. We planed to ride with some journalists on a short city riding before went to De La Rossa Cafe in Kemang for lunch and attending the event.

The second round of Superbike National Championship has just been held at Sentul International Circuit. Again, although I am still classified as beginner, I was allowed to participate in. This is the report.

This time my post is not about my ride. This is about an antique bicycles ride and dedicated to them who without making a lot of noise supporting the Green Earth program in their activities or hobbies.

 

This Sunday morning I do a short city riding with other a total 5 Ducatisti. There is nothing special for today. We just have an ordinary breakfast gathering and a coffee morning thereafter before we all split and went home. On the way home I showed a group of antique bicycles with white uniform riders, wow… so awesome. But I was in rush back home and bring no camera with me.

 

Not too long at home I need to pick up my kids by car at Mulia Hotel in Senayan and rush to go there by car. This time I bring my camera with me, just in case I get an interesting thing on the way there. Hm.. my feeling is right this time. I, again, showed another group of antique bicycles on the ride to the same direction with me. I did not want to loose this moment this time. See what I got here:

Tuesday, May 20, 2008 is a public holiday in Indonesia. Just an instant idea on Monday night, some Ducatisti would like to have a short and relaxing city riding. It was informed however that there will be a big event for promoting safety riding involving 30,000 bikes from all areas in Jakarta which will be centralized in Kemayoran, Jakarta. Ups.. that would be good however, it might be possible that we could be stuck in the middle of bike crowd some where. All of sudden, I got a call from Yuke informing that Pak Joko (the Director of Traffic of Indonesian Police) who suppose to ride with us this morning, said that he has to change the plan due to that Safety Riding Event and invited us to ride with and accompany him to Kemayoran before we then split and do our city riding. Hm.. that is interesting. We immediately said yes, because that is an honor for us and we also would like to convey the message that we, Ducati community, fully support him on that program and always support safety riding campaign for all bikers.

18 May 2008: Superbike Race at Indoprix Race

This time, again at a short notice I was informed that a supporting race of superbike was to be made available during the national Indoprix Race at Sentul Circuit. Hm.. that is interesting since the official race at Indoprix is only small (110 and 125 cc) bikes. This time they will have Superbike at part of the event, but just as a supporting race and to make the event more colorful.

Those racers at Indoprix are the real racers and they can have very good time lap (below 2 minutes) at Sentul International Circuit, not far different with us riding superbike. Hahaha.. But, anyway, this would be a great opportunity for me and most us as non professional riders to get a real race climate and get some practices with low cost.

2008 April: The First Round - National Superbike Championship Series

 

4-6 April 2008 – The First Round - National Superbike Championship Series 

After participating in two series of National Superbike Championship last year, some members of Ducati community participated in 2008 National Superbike Championship Series. The First Series was held on 4-5 April 2008. As usual, the race will be held at Sentul International Circuit. Friday (4 April 2008 ) was for FP, Saturday (5 April 2008 ) for QTT, and Sunday (6 April 2008 ) for the Race.

This year, there are 2 classes of the National Motorcycle Racing Championship namely Superstock 600 and Superbike (Free For All). Theoretically the Superbike/FFA class should for more pro riders. However, most of non-pro Ducati community ride 1000cc engine, and although we are NOT pro-racers, the Superbike/FFA class is the only class we could participate in.
