Before the end of 2006, together with other 14 Ducs (5 Multistrada, 5 Monster, 2 SBK 999, 1 SS 900, 1 ST2) I join a ride on an alternative route from Jakarta to Bandung (West Java) on Dec 2-3, 2006. This time we rode via Cibubur, Jonggol, Cileungsi, Cikalongkulon, Cirata Dam, Cikalongwelan, Darangdan, Wanayasa, Ciater and Lembang and entering into Bandung city from the north down from Mount Tangkuban Perahu. Although a bit longer route, it was always nice to ride in empty small village roads, ride between the tea plantation and ride in the heavy fog around the mountain area. Get ready with the rain coat, since riding in the rain is one of the consequences to ride in December in Indonesia. See this: Breafing before start.

Ok, lets go..

Started 7.00 am from Jakarta, we rode to Jonggol:

Road in Jonggol to Cileungsi was quite empty (compared to heavy traffic in Jakarta):

We have a first Break at Cikalongkulon, had a breakfast just beside the beutiful rice field:

First Break at Cikalongkulon for about 1 hour was a nice refreshment:

We then continued the trip to Cirata Dam…

Smaller village road but emty was always nice:

Close to Cirata Dam.. Although in a bit smoky sky, we could see the Dam from the hill:

Just a short break for a photo shoot, we then continue the ride to cross the Cirata Dam..

Continued the trip from Ciater to Bandung:

Entering Mount Tangkuban Perahu and Cikole area we rode in the foggy mountain wheather… It was a very short view distance in the midle of the quite heavy fog,  a bit cool but very fresh air… Although we should ride slowly I always enjoy riding in the fog.. It gives a different kind of sensation:

Taking a rest, enjoying food and evening in Bandung we then prepare for tomorrow’s ride back home to Jakarta.
