Part 1: Jakarta –Puncak-Mega Mendung Ride

This time, the ride is only a short distance. It was designed for a relaxing ride and focus more on the charity and gathering activities.

This is a kind of annual social routine activities of the Ducati community. If last year we rode to Serang almost at the beach level for the annual charity activity, this time we prefer to ride to a mountain area, Mega Mendung.

Saturday, October 11, 2008 Jakarta- Puncak Pass – Mega Mendung

Eko who is used to be on time, appeared a bit late with his Honda Tiger since he got some technical problem with his Monster 750 and Ratna (Eko’s fiancé) all of sudden was sick but still insisted to join but at the end agreed to stay at home. Finally all riders and bikes were there at CITOS. It was 06.00 a.m. already. 12 bikes and 7 cars were participated in. 6 participant came with their full family members.

As usual, we had the briefing session and paying before start lead by Didi, the Presidente.

We miss 3 other loyal passengers namely Grace, Tata and Ratna who are use to be seated on the back saddle of their spouse’s bike. Grace and Tata have to be in the car taking care of the kids and Ratna was sick today, must stay at home.

Stop for a while, at Pertamina Gas Station, we need to be sure all bikes were full tank.

Although not as empty as if we started on time, we could still enjoy quite empty road fresh morning air:

We could even still able to say good bye to the sunrise at the Overpass Pasar Minggu Bridge:

It started to be crowded at Depok and Eko was stuck on the red light for a while:

This is funny. We call our gathering this time as “Halal bi Hahal” but I didn’t realize The Presidente also invited all of his surrounding neighbors and sent them by bus. Hahaha..

We knew that riding directly to Mega Mendung will only be reach in a while and not satisfying enough for those who love to ride. We then split and let the cars and the kids went directly to Mega Mendung, and were doubling the distance for the riders by ride up hill to Puncak Pass, enjoy the twisty road along the tea plantation, and had the breakfast there before ride down to Mega Mendung thereafter to join the big group.

And, you may guess what happen when we start found an empty twisty road after Cipayung.. we let the riders have a free ride up to Puncak, enjoying corner by corner in a quite speedy ride so no one could get enough chance to take a nice photo shoot. We even let the sweeper to overtake each rider in the corner up the front. Hahaha…

We arrived at Puncak Pass at around 08.00 a.m. Enjoying Breakfast and very fresh mountain air was the most attractive things of this place.

Ok, we have to keep moving since we already have the Charity Activities scheduled at 11.00 at Mega Mendung.

Then, turned right to Mega Mendung, we rode up hill in quite steep. I can ensure no car or bike could reach this place without good clutch on their vehicles. Finaly we were there. Wow… it was a such beautiful villa located almost on the top of the hill.
