2006-Nov: Pelabuhan Ratu Trip

Flexi weekend is always tempting for a short riding in the city or on the country side. On Nov 11-12, 2006,  my wife, Cindy and I (Multistrada 1000DS) and Santoso (Monster 600) decided to ride to the beach at the south coast of Java island, Pelabuhan Ratu. If we go straight, it should not be too far. It is only about 160 Km. However, to enjoy a longer ride, we decided to choose a lot longer and circle route via Bogor, Leuwiliang, Jasinga, Rangkasbitung, Pandeglang, Saketi, Malingping, Bayah, Cisolok and Pelabuhan Ratu. It was 370 Km day trip trough hilly roads with many steep corners but combined with a fantastic Mountain View and beach view along the coast. Just before started, a friend, Gita (HD Street Glide) joined the Ducati Team.

This is the Tour map:

Route Map

Started from Jakarta at 5.30 a.m. to avoid traffic jam at certain spots like Parung and Leuwiliang with their traditional markets, we managed to reach Malingping on the mid-day and have a lunch break at a Satay House on the beach side, and enjoying delicious lamb and Chicken Satay (barbeque).

Start from McD Pondok Indah

 To Pelabuhan Ratu 02

To Pelabuhan Ratu 03

Malingping with its beautifull beach…

Lunch break, on the beach side, just before Bayah area:

Although we were riding in a short rain and have to be extra careful with the slippery roads, the view on Bayah area was fascinating..

Entering into Pelabuhan ratu at 2.00 p.m, we then take a rest and enjoying the peaceful and beautiful beach view of Pelabuhan Ratu.

The 2 Ducs (the HD split and join other group) were riding home on the next morning through Cikidang. It was also a very challenging but beautiful route. It was full of steep hilly road and very steep corners… This is quite light and short trip on the way home. The total journey was 502 Km.

Beautifull Cikidang area:

Awesome pics. It’s very cool to see the types of roads/environments that are in Indonesia…and, more importantly, seeing a bunch of Ducs! 🙂
